Great food with friendly service! A Mom and Pop restaurant serving authentic home-made style of delicious variety of Hispanic cuisine. Give it a try. It's not your fancy shmancy restaurant in Williamsburg. It has it's authenticity. You'll enjoy the experience in this non-typical restaurant. You'll be amazed by the quality of food they make. The owners are the chef and his wife the sous-chef. Two of the most friendly, and hardworking couple on Driggs Ave.

Short review: breakfast is great but I really like the empanadas and I find myself trying (and sometimes failing) to stop on my way to the L train. Even if I am already late, I will still stop and get one.

My chaulafan was delicious! Arepa was also very good. Food could have come out a bit faster but no other complaints from me.

expecting five stars but can't just yet. stopped in on my way to lunch looking for a bite to hold me over. the empanadas in the window were the green light. glanced over the menu and they've got plantains, steak, chicken, rice. the usual offenders but when the usual is usually delicious, sticking to what's tried and true is a good sign. as i mentioned up top it was just a stop so i wasn't looking to fill up. tried to order a spinach empinada (keeping it light) but they didn't have them. got beef instead. delicious. the meat is expertly seasoned and it comes with a house salsa that's actually spicy. the breading was perfectly flaky. real 10/10 pocket of joy. the interior is a decent size. metal tables. metal chairs. standard fare. but the atmosphere is really warm and inviting. can definitely see gusto latino becoming a regular spot. will be updating this review when i go for the full meal. hopefully tomorrow.

I got the pork platter from ubereats and it was really good! I'm impressed by the presentation and everything was super yummy. It's a large portion too! It hit the spot and tasted like a traditional pernil platter. My only complaint is that the pernil was already pretty cold by the time i got it, but i assume it got cold when it was on its way to me. My beans were still warm so that made up for it! Overall, super delicious platter and I'm excited to try this place in person.

Amazing!!!! Came up as a spot for good Colombian food so checked this place out of curiosity (and reviews ;) and was very pleased. Staff, super nice and helpful. Like one of those Mom & Pop spots that's little and quaint AND serves really yummy food. Ordered the Bandeja Paisa (I believe this is your traditional Colombian meat combination plate) - Chicarrón, steak, sausage arepa, avocado, egg, rice and sweet plantain: Very good (and filling. we shared this between the 2 of us). However, what caught my eye, the Ball of Green Banana (Bola de Banana Verde)...my gosh, delicious! Chopped up green bananas that's rolled into a ball with pieces of crispy pork belly and cheese. By itself, good. Drizzle a little bit of their garlic lemony salsa on top...and you've got yourself a wonderful fiesta happening on your taste buds. If you're one for that Green Plantain flavor, green Banana is slightly different, but I believe this dish will not disappoint. I'm coming back for more and then some :)

This is simple, tasty food, served by nice people for a good price. More people should follow this formula. There was a sign in the window for a lunch special of a chicken wrap and soup. The nice waitress told me the soup was chicken soup. So I ordered it. I was in a chicken mood. But then she came back and screamed, "NO CHICKEN SOUP FOR YOU!" (Just kidding, that's a Seinfeld joke. Get it? Pop culture, amiright?) Anyway, she actually just apologized in a very normal voice and said the soup of the day was actually lentil. Well, I'll be damned if I order lentil soup, so I got the Pollo Empanizado platter instead...which I realized that was a way better choice than a chicken wrap, even if the place wasn't called Gusto Latino. Which it was. To make this long inane story short, my pollo empanizado was a hearty portion of juicy breaded chicken cutlet with rice and beans on the side. Everything was well-seasoned and well-cooked, and the few pickled onions that were the perfect touch to tie it all together.
